Outpouring of Love and Appreciation for Pastor Glenn and Denise

This past Sunday
saw a great outpouring of love as the congregation successfully surprised Pastor Glenn and Denise on the occasion of their 10th wedding anniversary. We also celebrated and thanked the Lord for the beginning of their tenth year of ministry to our church.

We can safely report that they were completely fooled and Pastor had no idea that the Board and the staff had conspired to "hijack" the second service. There were a number of presentations to the Harvisons from their church family as well as the sharing of some heartwarming personal reflections from their parents and ministry friends. Afterwards, we enjoyed a wonderful luncheon reception.

Now, everyone who was not present in the first service needs to order a copy of the sermon they missed! (Click on photos for larger image.)

Joy at Harvest Time Summer Baptismal Service

Sixteen people received water baptism at a beautiful service held on Sunday, July 24th. There were many wonderful expressions of faith in the Lord and many touching moments - including a father and son being baptized together when Pastor Glenn and Pastor Chris baptized John and David Caminiti.

It was a delight to see people of all age groups and all kinds of backgrounds taking this important step in following the Lord!

Special thanks to Stacia Morris for opening her lovely home and pool for the baptismal service.

Congratulations again to those who were baptized:

Fun at our Family Summer Arts Program!

Under the watchful eyes of "Mr. Tim," "Ms. Tracy," and their fine helpers, HT kids and lots of other friends have been having a great time exploring and creating on Wednesday nights. Doesn't it look like fun? (Click photos to enlarge image.)

Actually, it makes me want to go downstairs and make a mess!

The Family Summer Arts Program will run again this coming Wednesday, the 27th at 7:00 p.m. Call the church for more details.

Greenwich rated among best places to live in USA

You already knew this, but Connecticut has lots of nice places to live. (Some expensive places, too!) So, few were very surprised to see a number of Connecticut towns hit Money magazine's list of the top 100 places to live in the USA.

Topping the list of Connecticut towns was Greenwich, at #12. (They must not have checked the gas prices!)

Also on the Money list were Tolland (#29), Colchester (#57), New Milford (#67), and Guilford (#78). We also have three of the top five towns in the US in terms of highest median income (Darien, New Canaan, and Wilton).

Calling All Cars

Harvest Time is in need of cheerful (and competent!) drivers for the Transportation Ministry. It's a great feeling to serve the Lord by serving others, so would you be willing to provide a ride to someone who has trouble getting out to services on their own?

Sign up at the Welcome Center or e-mail Chicky at the church.

Thanks!
