Advent Devotional: Wednesday, December 5

...they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek (Micah 5:1)

Many of the prophecies of Jesus' first coming relate to His suffering and death. The world does not understand why Jesus had to die. Many view it as foolish, pointless or even blasphemous that God would have a Son and send him to die for mankind.

Father, today we pray that You would enable us to explain the message of salvation through Jesus' Blood to people and that they would see the beauty of Christ's love displayed in the Cross.
